Start with the complete duty cycle
A process-door seal can experience heating, cooling, cleaning and repeated inflation in one cycle. Material and profile selection should be based on the complete sequence, including peak temperature, exposure time and any condensate or chemicals.
Protect the seal during movement
The seal should retract before the door moves and remain supported in its groove. Door alignment and flatness should be checked because local high spots can over-compress one section while another section remains under-contacted.
Qualification requires equipment testing
Prototype testing should reproduce the intended chamber, door and control conditions. Final acceptance values must come from the approved equipment test plan rather than a generic catalogue value.
