Close first, inflate second
The chamber closure carries the mechanical load. The inflatable seal then expands into the mating surface to close the remaining gap. The seal should not be used to pull a misaligned door into position.
Surface quality matters
Groove finish, mating-surface condition and joint quality can dominate leakage performance. Remove burrs, sharp edges and contamination before fitting the seal, and provide enough access to inspect the full perimeter.
Share the chamber details
For design review, provide chamber dimensions, groove section, gap range, vacuum target, cycle rate, temperature and any process gases or cleaning media.
